8 PSUs bag Quality Circle Forum Awards

Hyderabad, Oct 12: State-owned Andhra Pradesh State Transport Corporation, BHEL, National Thermal Power Corporation and National Mineral Development Corporation were among the eight PSUs which received the Quality Circle Fourm of India Awards from Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy here today.

In his address on the occasion, Dr Reddy stressed the need for achieving excellence in every field, including industry, agriculture, health and education.

''Though many peasants have been practising farming since childhood, they fail to adopt productivity practices,'' he lamented.

Congratulating the Forum for initiating a movement for quality in the industrial sphere in 1986, he expressed confidence that the 19th Annual Convention would bring to light more best practices.
