4 killed in van-lorry collision

Tirupati, Oct 12 (UNI) Four persons of a family, including two women, were killed and three seriously injured when a van collided head-on with a lorry at Gollapalli Cross Road in Puttur Mandal on Tirupati-Chennai National Highway about 30 kms from here this morning.

Police said the seven-member family was proceeding to Tiruttani from Dharmavaram in Anantapur District for darshan of Lord Subramaniya Swamy in the van when it collided with the lorry coming from the opposite direction.

The lorry was proceeding to Tirupati from Nagari in Chittoor District. The injured were admitted to Puttur Government Hospital.

The deceased were identified as Eswaramma (55), Anil Babu (35), Van Driver Nagaraju (28). One more person --a woman--was yet to be identified.
