Western Railway recovers Rs 1 crore from ticketless travelers
Mumbai, Oct 11 (UNI) The Westerm Railway has detected a large number of ticketless travels during the month of September in their special checking drive conducted in trains and railway stations.
During the month of September, WR detected 53,890 cases of irregular travelling and an amount of Rs 1.05 crore was recovered from the erring passengers which is 44.8 per cent more than the corresponding period of previous year, a release said.
The cummulative recoveries during the first six months of this year from ticketless travellers have gone up by 18.17 per cent as compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the release adds.
