Ulfa triggers blast in Asom

Guwahati, Oct 11 (UNI) At least five jawans were injured when ULFA miliants triggered a blast under an Army convoy near Tippok Tiniali in Doom Dooma in Tinsukia district today.

Several vehicles in the convoy were damaged under the impact of the blast.

A massive combing operation was launched in the area following the incident.

Meanwhile, the Unified Command overseeing counter-insurgency operation in the state held a high-level meeting in the state capital here to review the security scenario.

The meeting took note of the threat posed to railway works in insurgent-dominated North Cachar Hill district, where 11 people, including seven Railway Protection Special Force (RPSF)personnel and one Railway engineer, were killed by Black Widow militant group on October 6 last.
