Two SRP jawans injured in clash between SS and MNS activists
Mumbai, Oct 11 (UNI) Two State Reserve Police (SRP) jawans were injured while trying to disperse an irate mob of Shiv Sena (SS) and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) activists who clashed last evening at Shivaji Park in northcentral Mumbai.
Police said here today SRP jawan S N Desarkar suffered injuries on nose and left eye, while another Jawan Bhogare sustained head injury due to stone pelting between SS and MNS activists after the latter allegedly tore the poster of Sena chief Bal Thackeray near SIWS college at Wadala in southcentral Mumbai.
Later Shiv Sena activists who went to MNS office situated at Shivaji Park to question the tearing of the poster, had a heated argument resulting in a clash between members of the two parties.
A case of rioting has been registered against Abhijit Manse, Shekhar Bhagat, Avinash Bhosale and 150 to 200 other activists of both the parties, police said.
No arrests have been made so far in this regard. Further investigation are on, police added.
