Tiwari not to contest next Assembly Election
Dehra Dun, Oct 11 (UNI) Uttaranchal Chief Minister N D Tiwari today said that he has decided not to contest the forthcoming assembly elections due to old age.
Talking to mediapersons on the sidelines of the photo session of State Assembly members here, Mr Tiwari said his decision, not to contest election had nothing to do with the party High Command's decision.
''Though age has nothing to do in politics, still considering my age, I have decided not to contest the next elections,'' he said, maintaining that his decision would have no bearing in the Congress camp.
On being asked what message he had for the new generation of legislators, he said he had nothing to say to them as'' politics was a line where one has to go under self learning process. Everybody learns with his experience in politics, he asserted.
The new generation could learn from the books written by leaders such as Jawaharlal Nehru and other renowned politicians of the world, Mr Tiwari added.
