7 workers killed in a road accident

Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh, Oct 11: Seven daily wages labourers were killed and ten others injured when a jeep in which they were travelling dashed against a road side standing lorry at Batavaripalli in Kalakada mandal on Kadapa-Chittoor national highway road in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh late tonight.

Police here said the mishap occured when the labourers travelling in a jeep proceeding to Kalakada from Kaligiri dashed against the lorry, resulted six persons died on the spot and another one died on the way to hospital.

The ill-fated jeep was carrying twenty persons, more than its capacity.

The seriously injured were admitted at Pileru government hospital, police added.
