Seminar, photo exhibition on water conservation, management
Kozhikode, Oct 11 (UNI) Eightyfive photo panels, including the one depicting ''water exploitation'' by multinationals Pepsi and Coke, would be on display here as part of a seminar and photo exhibition beginning here from October 13.
The other important highlight on display at the 3-day event was the picture showcasing endosulphan tragedy at Kasargod in Kerala, Mathrubhumi senior news photographer Madhuraj, one of the organisers told reporters here today.
Former Union Minister and Janata Dal (S) Kerala president M P Veerendra Kumar, MP, would deliver the keynote address at the function, jointly organised by the Malabar Natural History Society (MNHS) and the Centre for Water Resources Development and Management, he said.
Experts would address the seminar on water conservation and management and wetlands of Calicut and their conservation, according to a communique.
Competitions for students on 'Wetland Biodiversity and Conservation' would also be held as part of the programme, it said.
MNHS joint secretary C J Thomas was also present at the press meet.
