Scholarship cut: Mulayam orders action against school
Lucknow, Oct 11 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav today ordered action against a school for demanding a 'cut' from students to clear their annual scholarships.
The issue was raised by Ram Iqbal Singh (BJP) during Question hour. He alleged that students of Janata Inter-college in Nadra area of Ballia were being forced to pay Rs 1000 in advance as commission to school management for getting their Rs 1,800 annual scholarship.
The scholarship is provided to upper caste students living below poverty line (BPL).
The Chief Minister ordered action against the management if probe found it guilty.
