Rupee gains 17 paise closes at Rs 45.64/65/USD
Mumbai, Oct 11: Indian Rupee today gained 17 paise to close at Rs 45.64/65 per US Dollar compared to the previous close of Rs 45.80/81 per US Dollar, as Rupee gained on account of more than expected Infosys results and FIIs selling in the Indian market, a money market trader said today.
Earlier Rupee opened high at 45.83/84 per US Dollar and in the mid morning traded low at Rs 45.75/76 per US Dollar.
The six month forward premia was fixed higher at 1.44 per cent and the one year premia was also higher at 1.42 per cent.
The Reseve Bank Of India today fixed the Reference Rate at Rs 45.76 compard to the previous rate of Rs 45.74 per US Dollar.
The performance of Rupee against other currencies has however improved, against Euro Rupee closed up at Rs 57.25 (57.30), against Pound Sterling it closed up at Rs 84.72 (84.90), and against Yen it was up at Rs 38.20 (38.21).
