Rs 5 cr being utilized under centrally sponsored schemes in Srinagar

Srinagar, Oct 11 (UNI) Under the centrally sponsored schemes, the Jammu and Kashmir government is utilising over Rs 5 crore in Srinagar district during the current fiscal, an official spokesman said.

He said against 900 rural community works taken up under rural development sector, 200 works have been completed so far during the current financial year involving an amount of Rs 1.50 crore.

The spokesman said this was revealed at a high level meeting of officers of Rural Development Department convened by Minister for Rural Development and Panchayats Jugal Kishore, to review implementation of various ongoing schemes and physical and financial achievements registered under rural development sector in Srinagar district here today.

The meeting while reviewing status of works on four model villages in the district was informed that Rs 40 lakh have so far been expended on various activities against an allocation of Rs 1.20 crore, while work is in progress on other development activities.

It was given out that under PMGSY, 5 roads are under execution in the district at a cost of Rs 1.74 crore and so far Rs 61 lakh have been incurred.

Reviewing Haryali project it was informed that against availability of Rs 43 lakh, an amount of Rs 29.46 lakh stand utilized on the project by the end of last month.
