RPF's drive against criminals

Kolkata Oct 11 (UNI) Railway Protection Force (RPF), Eastern Railway, has arrested some 23,905 miscreants and 87 touts from different stations and ticket booking counters during September last, official sources said today.

Another 66 criminals were also arrested and stolen railway property worth Rs. 94,727 was receovered.

Besides these, the RPF also arrested 14,245 free trippers during the month and Rs 28,03 lakh was realised as railway fare and fine.

Among them, 208 free trippers, who failed to pay the railway dues, were sent to jail.
