Renuka Sugars gets Special Economic Zone status

Mumbai, Oct 11: Renuka Sugars today announced that they have received an 'in-principle' government clearance for a SEZ (special economic zone) status for it's plant at Athani in Belgaum district of Karnataka.

Announcing this in a notice to the Bombay Stock Exchange, the company said that the SEZ would be an integrated sugarcane processing complex, with a cane crushing capacity of 5000 TCD (tonnes of crushing per day), alongwith a distillery of 120 KLPD (kilo litres per day) and 36 MW cogeneration plant.
