Remy windsurfs into World Raceboard Championship

Panaji, Oct 11 (UNI) Goa's Remy Fernandes made a clean sweep of the concluding windsurfing selection trials, winning all the seven races.

Derryck Menezes came second and another Goan Donald Coelho third while Maj Ashutosh Tripathi of the Army came fourth respectively.

National champion P Thomas of the Army could only manage the fifth place.

The first four have been selected to represent India at the World Raceboard Championships to be held in Pattaya, Thailand, from November 18 to 20.

The selection trial had seven windsurfers from the Army and three from Goa, with the latter finishing 1-2-3, signalling Goa's comeback after losing the national windsurfing crown to the Army earlier this year. The 3-day trials were held at Hawaii Beach at Dona Paula under the Goa Yatching Association.
