Raj accuses Uddhav of using his parents for selfish gains

Mumbai, Oct 11 (UNI) Rival cousins Raj and Uddhav Thackeray today sought to blame each other for yesterday's clashes by their party activists in Dadar.

Police have so far taken 13 people into custody from both sides.

Bharatiya Vidyarthi Sena President Abhijit Panse, Sada Sarvankar, MLA, former Mayor Milind Vaidya (from Shiv Sena) Vinod Khopkar and Yashvant Killedar from Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), have been detained.

Both Raj and Uddhav today held separate press conferences, in the vicinity of the area where fierce rioting took place between the activists of both the rival groups.

MNS President Raj Thackeray alleged that his cousin Udhav was using the name of his parents, to derive selfish political mileage in the coming Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation elections.

He said yesterday's incident was unfortunate, but, added it was not started by his people. Asked about the role of the police, he said he was happy with their role only upto 50 per cent. He however, firmly alleged that the attack on MNS workers was preplanned.

Regarding the version of events that appeared in the Shiv Sena's mouthpiece 'Saamana' Raj Thackeray quipped, ''It is always easy to write sitting in air conditioned cabines.'' Uddhav Thackeray also said it was an unfortunate incident, and claimed the stone pelting was not started by his followers.
