Punjab Police seize Rs 2 lakh counterfeIt currency
Moga, Oct 11 (UNI) The police arrested five persons and seized Rs 2.10 lakh counterfeit Indian currency during a raid at a house near local ITI campus last night, police said today.
The arrested included kingpin of the gang, Harjinder Singh of Jandiala town in Amritsar district. The gang was operating in the districts of Moga, Muktsar Bathinda and Ludhiana. It was operating from Moga for the last six months and prior to it the gang was operating from Virk village of Bhatinda district.
Stating this here SSP Arun Kumar Roy said that the others who were arrested were identified as Harcharan Singh of Virk village of Bhatinda, Amritpal Singh alias Baba of Harike Kalan, Baljit Singh of Doda in Muktsar and Gurdev Singh of Chaughakalan in Bhatinda district.
During the raid the police also seized a photostat machine, a computer, a scanner, a printer and a number of printer paper rolls.
