PDP policy causing disturbance to communal harmony: Bhim Singh
Jammu, Oct 11 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Panthers Party Chairman Bhim Singh today accused People's Democratic Party (PDP) of trying to create conflict between different regions in the state.
Chairing the meeting of NPP working committee, Prof Singh said anti-people and provocative slogans of PDP definitely disturb the communal harmony in the state.
Prof Singh warned PDP to desist from exploiting the innocent Kashmiris with green flags and handkerchiefs, which in the name of Pakistan President General Pervez Musharraf's ''self-rule'' and demilitarisation are threatening the security and integrity of the nation.
''Mufti and his party are desperate to return to absolute power by reintroducing the dead bogey of Dixon plan to carve out a so called Islamic republic in Jammu and Kashmir,'' he said.
Prof Singh claimed that his party will expose PDP's ''dangerous designs'' to create uncertainty in the state by inciting the people.
The working committee appealed to the political parties and other bodies to leave Mohammad Afzal Guru's case to the authority of the President A P J Abdul Kalam who is seized of the mercy appeal in this regard.
''Those who are resorting to street mongering will be harming a purely legal case. The so called intellectuals need to keep off such issues, which concern the security and the integrity of the state, and preach their sermons to those, who have been trying to sabotage the latest democracy of the world,'' Prof Singh said.
The NPP urged the Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad to promulgate ordinance on the appointment of delimitation commission for the increase and delimitation of assembly constituencies as per commitment of the government in the light of common minimum programme (CMP) of the coalition partners.
The working committee also urged Congress president Sonia Gandhi to convene a meeting of the representatives of the coalition partners, in order to review the achievements of the coalition government vis-a-vas CMP, and sort out the series differences among the coalition partners.
