Nepal protests the Nucler test by North Korea
Kathmandu, Oct 11 (UNI) The Government of Nepal has expressed grave concern over the nuclear test carried out by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on October 9 in defiance of global opinion.
"The Government of Nepal views this as an unfortunate and uncalled for incident as it will aggravate the delicate situation in the Korean peninsula and the region and will have adverse ramifications for international peace and security", says a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs here today.
'As an ardent advocate of general and complete disarmament of all weapons of mass destruction, Nepal strongly opposes proliferation of weapons and race for armaments irrespective of their locations and motive', the ministry said.
Nepal believes in and urges for the peaceful resolution of all international disputes, the release added.
