MSPL Gases sets up air separation plant at VISL

Bangalore, Oct 11 (UNI) MSPL Gases Limited today installed 'Air Separation Plant' with 50 tons per day capacity in Steel Authority of India Limited's (SAIL) Visvesvaraya Iron and Steel Plant (VISL) at Badravati in Shimoga district of Karnataka.

This was the first Indian tonnage plant of its kind, which was more suitable in meeting flexible demands of medium size steel plants, SAIL-VISL Executive Director Roy Choudhury said after inaugurating the plant.

Mr Choudhury said the facility, created with state-of-the-art technology, would help VISL to get consistent supply of oxygen, a prerequisite for increasing liquid steel production. ''The establishment of Oxygen Plant is a testimony to the joint participation of public and private enterprises for consolidation of economic gains of the country.'' MSPL Gases Limited is a part of the Baldota Group, the leading corporate business house in India engaged in iron ore mining, wind power and leading producer of industrial gases in South India. With this expansion, the Baldota Group would increase the volume of its gas division from 10.00 million to 22.00 million cum per annum, according to a release here.

MSPL Chief Managing Director Narendra Kumar Baldota, speaking on the occasion, said ''we are confident that this new plant would meet all the requirements of SAIL exceeding their expectations. We have further initiated a dialogue with the captive customers in South India for setting up a similar kind of Boo Oxygen Plant.'' UNI MSP GD SKB1553
