'Mobile Cancer and Heart Screening Unit' launched by Rao

Hyderabad, Oct 11 (UNI) Yashoda Group of Hospitals Director G S Rao today launched a Mobile Cancer and Heart Screening Unit to conduct free health screening across the state, to diagnose serious diseases at an early stage.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr Rao said the mobile screening bus had facilities for digital Mammography, digital X-ray tests and ultrasound scanning. It was also equipped with TMT, ECG investigation and mini-laboratory to conduct pap smear and semi-auto analyzer, which were useful for doctors for diagnosis and analysis.

Stating that cancer was increasing in rural areas, he said 'our motto was to narrow the disparity between rural and urban areas by providing better health care to all'.

Mr Rao said Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy would flag-off the bus tomorrow. Three more mobile buses would also be inducted into service in the near future, he added.
