Medical fraternity protests against ransacking of hospital

Akola, Oct 11 (UNI) The medical fraternity here today donned black badges to protest against the attack on the staff of Shrijee hospital by some irate relatives of a deceased patient.

One Miss Priyanka alias Pinki Raut (3), who was admitted to the hospital on Monday died yesterday due to medical complications. Subsequently, around 15-20 emotionally charged relatives went beserk, attacking hospital employees and ransacking the hospital in the thickly populated Kala Chabutra area in the heart of the city last night, police said.

Offences have been registered against one Mr Subhas Mahadeo Suryawanshi and 15 others under sections 143, 488, 497, 323 of The Indian Penal Code on the basis of a complaint filed by Dr Anup Kothari, the child specialist of the hospital, police added.
