Mah. govt. prepares ambitious plan to fight chickungunya
New Delhi, Oct 11 (UNI) The Maharashtra Government has prepared an ambitious plan to educate the people about precautions to be taken against dengue and chickungunya diseases, state Health Minister Dr Vimal said here today.
Speaking at a meeting of state Health Ministers, convened by the Centre to take stock of the situation arising out of the dengue and chickungunya outbreak, Dr Vimal said the Centre had agreed to provide a Rs one crore financial assistance to the state for the project.
She said the Centre had also assured the state government of a further Rs 1.30 crore for purchase of fogging machines and other sprays and equipment to control the spread of mosquitos which are the main source of the two diseases.
