Jaya warns 'pro-DMK' police officials
Coimbatore, Oct 11 (UNI) Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa today warned higher police officials, who were allegedly 'partisan, inhuman and pro-DMK' of action once her party came back to power.
Addressing an election meeting here, she said the 'minority' DMK government would fall anytime and police officials who were pro-DMK would face repercussions after that.
She alleged that the TV sets distributed free to the people by the DMK-led government were of low quality and morever, it was distributed only to DMK cadre.
If the local body elections were conducted free and fair, the AIADMK-led alliance would win convincingly, she claimed.
On Chikungunya, she said the government was lying about the deaths and no action was taken so far by the government to contain the spread of the disease.
MDMK General Secretary Vaiko, addressing the gathering, said Mr Karunanidhi was very sure of defeat if the elections to the post of mayors and municipal chairmen were conducted directly, so he had changed the election procedure to the indirect system.
The Centre had not reduced the price of petrol and diesel even after the international crude oil price had dipped, he added.
