Husband stabs wife to death

New Delhi, Oct 11 (UNI) A 35-year-old woman was allegedly stabbed to death by her husband following an altercation in Patel Nagar area of West Delhi.

Kiran, whose husband Rakesh suspected her of having an affair, was stabbed by him yesterday night at their Sangam Colony residence in Patel Nagar after she confronted him over his allegation, said sources.

Quarrel between them began after Kiran waited for Rakesh till late in the evening as she had kept 'Karva Chauth' fast and waited for him to return to break her fast.

This infuriated Kiran and she shouted at him which was followed by an argument which lasted for some time. Matters further worsened after Rakesh taunted her that she had kept the 'vrat' not for him but for her lover. This led Kiran to argue with him after which Rakesh, who worked in a factory at Mayapuri, stabbed her to death.

The couple had three sons -- aged 14, 12 and 8.

Police said they had registered a case and were trying to get Rakesh who was absconding.
