Govt to put draft irrigation policy on website

Hyderabad, Oct 11 (UNI) Aiming for an integrated irrigation and water policy, the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today directed the officials to put the comprehensive draft policy, on the website, once it was ready.

Discussing the draft irrigation policy with the officials here, Dr Reddy said suggestions and opinions would be invited from the experts after the policy was put on the website.

The suggestions would be incorporated in the final draft which would be announced soon.

The policy, which was under preparation would also include modernisation of existing system, improvement of drainage system, flood protection and utilisation of ground water, an official release said.
