Elaborate security arrangements for President's visit
Gwalior, Oct 11 (UNI) Elaborate security arrangements have been made in view of President A P J Abdul Kalam's visit here tomorrow.
Dr Kalam will take part in a programme 'National Symposium for Instrumentation' organised by ITM Universe besides participating in golden jubilee programmes of the Madhya Pradesh Chambers of Commerce (MPCC) and the Scindia Kanya Vidyalaya.
The President will reach here at 1500 hrs.
MPCC Chairman Satish Ajmera said Dr Kalam will release a stamp on the occasion.
The Intelligence Bureau was looking after security arrangements of the President. About 12 IPS officers and 1,200 security personnel were deployed for security purpose.
A team constituting one DIG, two Additional Superintendents of Police and three DSPs was formed for each programme.
Besides Gwalior, jawans and women police trainees from nearby districts were also deployed.
In order to test security arrangements, a rehearsal of the President's cavalcade was undertaken.
