CR completes doubling of tracks in JNP-Panvel section
Mumbai, Oct 11 (UNI) In order to ensure faster movement of containers and to meet the future demands, Railways have completed the work of doubling the track between Jawaharlal Nehru Port and Panvel at a cost of about Rs 53 crore.
According to Central Railway sources, Jawaharlal Nehru Port to Delhi is one of the main container traffic routes of the railways, which has being severely hampered due to the 25-km single line stretch between JNP and Panvel.
With doubling of the tracks in this section, the time taken by a container train between Tughlakabad and JNP will be reduced by 25 per cent.
