Constable guns down colleague and two others in Bharatpur

Jaipur, Oct 11 (UNI) A police constable gunned down three people, including one of his colleagues, under Deeg police station in Bharatpur district this morning.

According to police sources, constable Chandrakant, posted at Kuchri police outpost along with two other colleagues, gunned down one of them with his rifle. Then he entered a temple nearby and shot dead the temple priest and his wife. Temple priest Govardhan Nath (60) and his wife Sharda (55) died on the spot.

Constable Chandrakant also fired at the SHO of Deeg police Narendra Sharma and his team who reached the spot after getting information about the incident. However, they escaped unhurt.

Later police managed to arrest Chandrakant. The provocation for the constable for firing is not yet known.
