Congress flays govt using force on agitating farmers

Jaipur, Oct 11 (UNI) Condemning the police lathicharge on agitating farmers in Gharsana yesterday in strongest terms, the Congress Party said the state government's policy to suppress the protest with force would not work.

RPCC vice-president Dr Chandrabhan urged the Chief Minister to hold talks with the farmers over their demands of irrigation water supply instead of terrorising them.

Meanwhile, CPM leader Vasudev warned the Vasundhara Raje government that the rightful agitation of farmers would spread to all parts of the state if the state government insists on suppressing them using brute force.
