Congress conspiring against our MLAs: BJP
Ranchi, Oct 11 (UNI) The BJP today alleged that Congress was conspiring against its MLAs by conducting a sting operation in Jharkhand and demanded a CBI inquiry into the matter.
Former Chief Minister of Jharkhand Arjun Munda and former Finance Minister Raghubar Das addressing a joint press conference here, said that three persons had tried to capture clippings of a party MLA, who was forcibly given money, for an official task at his residence. These people managed to escape but their mobile phones were taken away.
''The Congress is behind the whole incident and trying to tarnish the BJP MLA's image,'' Mr Munda claimed.
A case in this regard would be registered in the concerned police station, he added.
Mr Munda said the cell phones had information about the operation and would be revealed in time.
The state party president alleged that the Congress was trying to malign the BJP's image to gain politically in the Koderma by-poll and the entire incident was ''politically motivated.'' However, highly placed BJP sources told UNI that the incident occured at the residence of Ashok Bhagat, a BJP MLA from Mahgama assembly area in Godda district.
