Chalk out plans to check spread of Chikungunya: Ravi
Kochi, Oct 11 (UNI) Criticising Kerala Government's handling of Chikungunya fever, Union Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs Vayalar Ravi today demanded that the government chalk out a comprehensive plan to contain the disease in the affected areas.
Talking to media here today, Mr Ravi said instead of debating the cause of deaths, the government should come out with a constructive programme to stem the mounting death toll in Cherthala taluk.
'The government's inefficiency in tackling the disease is very evident and people in the area are living in a state of horror.' Mr Ravi, whose native place is Cherthala, said the government should try to win the confidence of the people with proper policies to curb the disease.
Reacting to allegations by former Minister K R Gowri Amma that CPI(M) leaders offered posts and money to topple the A K Antony government, Mr Ravi said the people concerned should come out with an explanation as no one was 'denying' the charge.
