Best manager competition at IIMI festival
Indore, Oct 11: Ashwamedha competition for the best manager carrying cash award of Rs 1.5 lakh and Kalpavriksha social initiative game will be the focus of attraction at the four-day annual festival IRIS of Indian Institute of Management Indore from November 9.
IIMI students media committee said in a release here that IRIS has events and contests catering to every management field- finance, marketing, strategy, general management and information technology. Twenty five of the top Business Schools across India are invited to participate in IRIS.
Ms Naina Lal Kidwai, CEO HSBC, will grace the opening ceremony of IRIS 2006.
Amongst a host of games, the flag-ship event of Ashwamedha has set new standards with respect to participation, with more than 1000 participants registering for the game. It attempts to find the best manager from across the best Business Schools by testing the participants on leadership attributes like teamwork, stress handling, conflict management and decision-making and presentation skills.
IRIS has also introduced a social initiative event called Kalpavriksha, which seeks ideas from management students to improve the world around us.
In an attempt to prove that management students are not always blinded by the glitter of lucre, participants are encouraged to come up with never-before solutions to social ills by using learning and concepts from their management training. With the help of NGO Ashoka as knowledge partner, Kalpavriksha intends to zero-in on that ground breaking idea that could create an impact.
