Bangladesh PM Khaleda Zia to visit Saudi Arabia

Dhaka, Oct 11: Bangladesh Prime Minister Khaleda Zia will be on a seven day tour to Saudi Arabia starting from October 14 as guest of the Royal Saudi Government, the Foreign Ministry announced here today.

During her stay in Saudi Arabia, the Prime Minister would call on King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud on October 15 in Mecca. She is also expected to have a separate meeting with Crown Prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz on October 17 in Mecca.

During these meetings, Begum Zia and the Saudi leadership would discuss matters concerning bilateral relations between the two countries, the Foreign Ministry said.

On the sidelines of the official talks, heads of the Islamic Developmewnt Bank (IDB) and the Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) will also call on the Prime Minister.

At the end of the official engagements, the Prime Minister will perform holy Umrah. She will also visit Medina to perform Ziarat at the Raoza Mubarak of Prophet Muhammad (SM).

She is expected to return home on October 21.
