Bail plea of extortionist rejected

Lucknow, Oct 11 (UNI) A Special CBI court today rejected the bail application of Bharat Nath Shukla, accused of issuing threats to Sahara India deputy managing worker O P Srivastava and demanding an extortion money of Rs 50 lakh.

A case was registered at Mahanagar police station here on May 15, 2005 in this regard by Navin Singh.

The FIR claimed that Shukla had demanded Rs 50 lakh from Mr Srivastava by threatening him.

On basis of the chargesheet, the accused was directed to appear before the court. Later, non-bailable warrant was also issued against him.

Shukla was finally arrested in the intervening night of October 10 and 11.
