ABVP workers sent to judicial remand

Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, Oct 11 (UNI) A local court today sent all the 12 ABVP workers, arrested in connection with rioting and misbehaving with Professor M L Nath at the Madhav College during student union elections on August 26, to judicial remand till October 13.

The ABVP workers were presented before Judicial Magistrate R S Madia, who sent them to judicial remand.

Earlier, police today arrested 12 ABVP workers, including Sanwar Patel, Bhanu Bhadoria, Rizwan and Mahendra Yadav, Superintendent of Police Jaideep Prasad said.

Six ABVP workers, including its State President Shashiranjan Singh Akela and Organising Secretary Vimal Tomar, had also been arrested on the charge of murdering Prof H S Sabharwal, who died when students attacked him at the college campus after abrupt postponement of students union elections.

The CID was entrusted with the inquiry into the campus violence and the workers were in judicial custody.
