5 held for cheating AP girls

Hyderabad, Oct 11 (UNI) The police arrested five people for cheating two city-based girls by performing their marriage to Oman nationals.

Police here today said middlemen Shanwaz and Mumtaz assisted Oman nationals Yousuf sin Salim Thani Al Busaidi and Mohd bin Salim Thani Al Busaidi, both twins, in getting married to the girls with their parents' consent.

Shanwaz and Mumtaz told their parents that the bridegrooms were working for the Oman government.

Kwajis Wahid Quareshi, Mohd Zaheeruddin and Mohd Abdul Rashid performed the 'nikah' on July 18. The duo left for Oman immediately.

The women later got visas and went to Oman. The girls later came to know that the agents had cheated them as their husbands were suffering from epilepsy.

Besides, the bridegrooms were working only as security guards and not for the government as claimed by the middlemen. The two girls also alleged harrasment by them.

The fraud came to light when the women informed their parents of the matter.
