12 ABVP workers held for rioting

Ujjain, Oct 11: After arresting 6 ABVP workers on the charge of murdering Prof H S Sabharwal, police today arrested 12 ABVP workers for rioting and misbehaving with another professor M L Nath at the Madhav College here during students union elections on August 26.

The arrested, including Sanwar Patel, Bhanu Bhadoria, Rizwan and Mahendra Yadav, will be produced before the court soon, Superintendent of Police Jaideep Prasad said.

Prof Sabharwal was killed as the students attacked him at the college campus after abrupt postponement of students union elections.

Six ABVP workers, including its State President Shashiranjan Singh Akela and Organising Secretary Vimal Tomar, were arrested on the murder charge after the CID was entrusted with the inquiry into the campus violence. They were in judicial custody.
