3 blast accused found guilty by TADA court

Mumbai, Oct 10: TADA court here today found quilty three blast accused, being the owners of the trawlers, helped Tiger Memon, the prime accused in the 1993 serial bomb blasts in Mumbai, in landing the deadly arms and ammunitions at Shekhadi, District Raigarh in February, 1993.

Yashwant Boinkar, Abbas Shekhdare and Shahjehan Shekhdare, who were on bail, were found guilty under section 111 of the customs act.

Meanwhile, another two blast accused Ismail Patel and Mohinuddin Abdul Kadar were acquitted by TADA judge P D Kode following lack of evidence. The accused Mohinuddin had visited Dubai and had a meeting with the absconding accused Tahir Taklya.

According to CBI, Takya had showed him some video film clippings of riots in Mumbai in which members of a particular community had suffered. According to the charges, after seeing the video film, they had chalked out the plan for committing terrorist act in India to take revenge on behalf of the members of the community which suffered in the communal riots which took place in Mumbai in 1993 after the demolition of the disputed religious structure in Ayodhya on december 6, 1992.

However, Patel was charged for financing blast accused Abdul Aziz Sheikh who had also visited Dubai for taking part in the conspiracy of the blast.
