Sensex surges 51 pts in the opening move
Mumbai Oct 10: The Bombay Stock Exchange Sensitive Index (Sensex) has shed all inhibitions prior to the second financial of the year, and floating on high notes opened 51 points in the green at 12,416.43.
Currently sensex is trading at 12, 435.92, which is 70.09 points more than the previous close.
Asian markets too have rebounded, Key benchmark indices in Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan were up between 0.75 - 1 per cent, however markets in Taiwan were closed on account of holiday.
Sensex in the intra-morning trade touched a high of 12,481.93 points and a low of 12,416.43.
Amongst the BSE sectoral indices, IT was up by 1.05 per cent, Health sector was up by 0.82 per cent and Consumer Durables was up by 0.73 per cent. However FMCG was trading in the red by 0.09 per cent.
Major gainers on the BSE-30 index are- Dr Reddy's Lab, Maruti Udyog, HDFC, NTPC, Bharti Airtel, Ranbaxy, Infosys, ACC, TCS and wipro all up between 0.92 to 2.19 per cent.
Besides the losers are few in, HLL down by 0.84 per cent, ONGC down by 0.18 per cent and Tata Steel down by 0.10 per cent.
