Woman burnt alive

Mahoba, Oct 9 (UNI) A woman was burnt alive and her infant injured after fire struck her house here last night, police today said.

The incident occurred in Bamhauri village under Charkhari police station area, where Uttam Rajpoot had burnt cow dung cakes to drive away mosquitoes.

The flames reached the nearby kerosene container and the fire spread killing Uttam's wife on the spot.

His two-year-old daughter was severly burnt, police added.

Property worth several lakh of rupees also reduced to ashes.
