WAPSCOS pays 96.5 per cent dividend to GOI
New Delhi, Oct 9 (UNI) Union Minister of Water Resources Saifuddin Soz today received a cheque for Rs 1.93 crore from Chairman of Water and Power Consultancy Services (India) Limited (WAPCOS) D Datta in the presence of Ms Gauri Chatterji, Secretary, Water Resources and other senior officers.
WAPCOS, which has been granted a unique score of 1.0, the highest score to be granted to any public sector based on its audited data, has declared an all time high dividend of 96.5 per cent of its paid-up capital for the year 2005-06.
WAPSCO, which commenced its operations in 1969, is now eligible to be place in the Excellent category for the third time in succession. The company is now an ISO 9001:2000 and is accredited 'Mini Ratna' status from the Government of India Enterprise.
It provides consultancy services in the critical areas of water resources, power and infrastructure development.
WAPCOS have successfully completed/on-going consultancy assignments abroad in 39 countries and is registered with various international funding agencies for participating in the funded projects.
Currently, it is executing projects in Afghanistan, Cambodia, Zimbabwe, Bhutan, Ethiopia, Lesotho, Zambia, Uganda, Swaziland, Eritrea, Rwanda, Sudan and almost all states of India.
