Three persons injured in group clash
Rajkot, Oct 9 (UNI) Three persons were injured in a group clash at Ishwariya village in Jasdan Taluka of the district last night, people today said.
According to police, the trouble erupted when the members of one group started pelting stones on a car of the rival group. Later, both the groups indulged in exchange of fire, resulting in injuring three persons, the police said. At least three rounds have been fired from the country made pistols.
The members of Patel and Kathi communities had indulged in the clash, the police said adding that one of the seriously injured was shifted to Rajkot civil hospital while two others were being treated at Jasdan Hospital.
An old enmity between the two groups said to be the cause of the clash.
Following the incident, a police party rushed to the village and intensified patrolling. However, situation was brought under control but a tense situation still prevails in the village.
Complaints and counter complaints have been lodged against each other.
So far no one has been arrested in this connection, the police said.
