Sena chief asks old guards for victory in BMC, TMC polls
Mumbai, Oct 9 (UNI) Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray today urged the Sainiks to concentrate on the party's victory in the municipal corporation elections of Brihanmumbai and Thane, which are due next year.
''All efforts should be made by the Shiv Sainiks to achieve victory in the two municipal elections,'' said Mr Thackeray while addressing a meeting of veteran Sainiks at a function here.
He said the party cadre has the same fire among themselves. The old Sainiks is the base of the party, he added.
He asked the veteran Sainiks to give their suggestions in writing, which could be considered.
It may be recalled that Shiv Sena, after its formation, first came to power in Thane and later in its journey of 41 years, the party is ruling Mumbai, the financial capital of the country, for over two decades.
On the issue of Hindutava, the Sena chief said all the people should come together for the sake of Hindutava.
He wondered why the media makes hue and cry about Mr Thackeray's nepotism, while ignoring the same of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar.
