R N Sharma declared BJS candidate from Vidisha

Vidisha (MP), Oct 9(UNI) Ms Uma Bharti-led Bharatiya Jan Shakti has decided to field its Madhya Pradesh unit President Raghunandan Sharma as the party nominee for the Vidisha Lok Sabha byelection, scheduled on October 30.

An announcement to this effect was made here today by Ms Bharti while addressing party workers from Vidisha and Raisen districts.

Mr Sharma has quit BJP in support of Mr Bharti immediately after her expulsion from BJP last year.

The BJP had already declared state PHE Minister Rampal Singh as its candidate for Vidisha seat, vacated by Mr Shivraj Singh Chouhan on his election to the Assembly after becoming Chief Minister in November last year.

Mr Singh, who is scheduled to file his nomination on October 13, has formally launched his campaigning by addressing a rally at Mandideep industrial town today after offering prayers at the ancient Shiv temple at Bhojpur. Transport Minister Himmat Kothari also addressed the rally.
