JD(U) MLA in Janata Darbar to seek security

Patna Oct 9 (UNI) A JD(U) MLA in Bihar today lodged a complaint against RJD leader Rama Devi's bodyguards before Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, saying that an attempt on his life has been made while he was travelling in Rajdhani Express last night.

Following the allegation of the ruling party MLA Vijay Kumar alias Munna Shukla at Janata Durbar, Mr Kumar directed the IG of Police (headquarters) to probe into the allegations and asked Mr Shukla, who represents Lalganj assembly constituency, to lodge an FIR in this regard.

Mr Kumar told newspersons that action would be taken against the guilty people after a thorough probe into the allegations made by his party leader.

The Chief Minister, however, said that the janata darbar was not the right place for the MLAs to raise their issues as it was a platform for the common people to ventilate their grievances.

Earlier Mr Shukla called on Mr Kumar in the janata darbar and apprised the latter about the threats on his life from the security personnel of none other than senior RJD leader Rama Devi.

Mr Shukla is one of the prime accused of Brij Bihari murder case. The then Bihar Science and Technology Minister Brij Bihari Prasad was shot dead in the state capital.

Mr Prasad was husband of former PHED minister Rama Devi.
