Jan Morcha will not contest local body polls

Jaunpur, Oct 9: Jan Morcha (JM) convenor and Suspended Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Raj Babbar today said the party would not contest the forthcoming local body elections in the state.

Talking to mediapersons here, Mr Babber said the party was'' not interested'' in fighting the local body polls.

Expressing concern over the ''dismal law and order'' situation in UP, the actor-turned-politician asserted the state government had failed in all aspects and people lacked basic amenities like water and power.

Slamming the Samajwadi Party-led UP government, he alleged the CM was least concerned about the grievances of farmers and only interested in providing undue profit to big industrialists.

''People are fed-up with the present dispensation and JM is the right choice at the moment,'' Mr Babbar added.
