India express concern over nuclear test by North Korea
New Delhi, Oct 9 (UNI) India today expressed its deep concern over the reported nuclear test conducted by North Korea, saying it highlighted the dangers of clandestine proliferation.
''It is unfortunate that North Korea conducted such a test in violation of its international commitments, jeopardising peace, stability and security in the Korean peninsula and in the region,'' an External Affairs Ministry spokesman said in a statement.
He said India was monitoring the situation and was in close touch with several countries in the wake of the development.
