HC rejects Sara Sahara conspirator's plea
Mumbai, Oct 9 (UNI) The Bombay High Court today rejectedthe plea of suspended BMC official Kiran Acherakar for quashing the First Information Report (FIR) against him charaging the conspiracy hatched for the illegal construction of the twin shopping complex Sara Sahara at Crawford Market in South Mumbai.
Acherakar is one of the nine accused against whom MCOCA court had framed charges on February 22. Also, his bail plea has been rejected twice in this case by the High Court while MCOCA court rejected the same on March 14 on grounds that prima facie there was evidence available against him.
The commercial complex, allegedly owned by underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, was built illegally on a land belonging to the Public Works Department and reserved for a municipal school.
