Cop arrested for assaulting BJP ward candidate

Lucknow, Oct 9 (UNI) A police sub-inspector was today arrested for assaulting a BJP ward candidate under Ram Janmabhoomi police station area of Ayodhya.

Police said here sub-inspector Ghanshyam Das clashed with BJP ward candidate Pramod Kumar Katiyar over some dispute last night.

Later, the duo lodged FIRs against each other.

Das resides in the house of Khursheeda, who is BSP's independent candidate in the forthcoming local body elections.
