Congress change on delimitation not changed

New Delhi, Oct 9 (UNI) The Congress Party today said there was no change in its stand vis-a-vis delimitation of Lok Sabha and assembly constituencies, while maintaining that there was a general consensus among all political parties on the issue.

Asked about the report that the Congress was not in favour of reconfiguration of Lok Sabha and Assembly constituencies, Party Spokesman Satyavrat Chaturvedi said the party had nothing more to say than what had been said earlier."We cannot say anything until the recommendations of the Delimitation Commission comes." He said the process of delimitation, under the aegis of the Delimitation Commission, had been underway and the exercise was in different stages in many states.

"Once the process is over, the delimitation commission will announce its recommendations," he said, adding that "the Congress has nothing to say than what had been said already on the issue." Mr Chaturvedi did not confirm if a meeting of the Congress core committee had decided to convene an all Party meeting towards this week end to discuss the delimitation issue.
